FullTimeNurse.com | The Full Time Nurse Blog was originally created to be a place to post creative content, spread knowledge and chase passion. Full Time Nurse is meant to be a home for nurses, nursing students and anyone aspiring a career in nursing. We want to provide accurate and reliable information while maintaining a fresh perspective on the nursing genre. From the perspective of a murse (male nurse).
Who Am I?
My name is Michael and I am a full time murse (male nurse) working in a Surgical ICU. I have aspirations of attending CRNA school and providing content to inspire others to pursue careers in nursing.
I started college in Computer Engineering and quickly learned that it was not what I wanted to do. I ended up switching my major to Nursing after just about a year and a half into engineering. Quite honestly, I’m not 100% sure if I knew that’s what I wanted to do, but now I don’t question that decision. I love nursing, what it stands for and the people who work in the profession. There are definitely some areas that I wouldn’t work in, but there are others I am absolutely in love with.
I worked throughout nursing school at Best Buy, in surgery at a children’s hospital and for a short time in a neuro-ICU. After graduation I got my first nursing job in the Surgical ICU and have been there since. As I mentioned before, I want to attend CRNA school after I feel ready and like I have a strong clinical background filled with experience.
Why Did I Start Full Time Nurse?
Why did I start Full Time Nurse? Well, great question! Full Time Nurse was started actually due to a combination the need to get back into YouTube (creating videos and content) and getting back to one of my earliest passions, web design.
From an early age I was a tech-savvy kid and it only grew as I did. I loved technology and the idea of what it stood for. Continuing from this I created videos and posted them on YouTube, developed a following, but then later deleted my channel out of fear of what others would think in high school.
Since, I have always wanted to get back into making videos, content and helping people, but I wasn’t quite sure how. I discovered blogging while doing some research on WordPress and HTML-5 and thought I would try it out – turned out it was a great way for me to spend some free time!
